Introduction

Mazzano Romano is an immersive experience in history, culture, beauty and walking.

Living in the town itself is a wonderful experience, but it is not a destination in itself, it is a centrepoint for exploring the nearby villages by half day or daytrips, walking the Treia valley, and enjoying the Bracciano lakeside. You will need to have a car to enjoy these experiences. Mazzano can potentially be reached if travelling with only a daypack by a combination of train, bus and walking.

We recommend five days to see the basic sites listed here, and stay as long as you want to further explore the national park, and nearby cities of Rome, Viterbo, Florence and beyond.

You will be staying in a five-hundred year old building with foundations dating back thousands of years. Despite a modern renovation, the plumbing can be quirky, there are occasional electricity outages, and the Internet can be temperamental. That's half the fun of it.

The friendly locals are never in a hurry to do anything. It wouldn't be the same if they were.

Our 2 apartments in Mazzano Romano are available for rental to friends, family and referrals directly from the owners, with no businesses in between.
